My name is Luigi and I am 31 years old. I started teaching English right after graduating from Venice University in 2007 and I plan to do it for a very long time. I like to learn languages because it’s an important tool in understanding people coming from different places and backgrounds; so far I’ve managed to learn English, Italian and Chinese and I’m working on my Spanish. I can’t speak Khmer, but I’ll get there. A part from teaching, I enjoy travelling, reading and playing ukulele.
Relevant Qualifications/experience teaching:
I’ve been a teacher for about 6 years; I have taught in Italy, China and Hong Kong before moving to Phnom Penh; I have experience with different age groups, especially children, and I have taught anything from one on one lessons to classes of 40 kindergarten students.
What do you enjoy about teaching at MIS?:
At MIS I’ve found a great team of experienced teachers and administrative staff, which is very important when starting a new job. It takes care of teachers as well as students, creating an ideal environment to work in.
What motivates you as a teacher?:
Teaching gives the opportunity to witness the growth of young minds and, hopefully, to be part of it; it also allows to immerse oneself in different cultures and to see the world from a point of view different from that of a simple traveler.
